My favorite month of the year has arrived!! It’s August ya’ll!! We are deep in 2024!! Feels good!!

It’s peak summer and the parties and celebrations are heating up even more!! As temperatures rise and the days stretch into warm evenings, summer is making its presence known as it comes to a close this month!

Not only is August my Birthday month (August 16) but it’s also …

  • August 1: National Spider-Man Day
  • August 3: National Watermelon Day
  • August 4: National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day and National Friendship Day
  • August 11: National Hip Hop Day
  • August 16: National Kool-Aid Day and National Rum Day
  • Back-to-School Month
  • Black Business Month
  • Black August a time to remember Black political prisoners, Black freedom struggles in the United States and beyond, and to highlight Black resistance against racial, colonial and imperialist oppression

Gonna be another great season!! Can’t wait to celebrate!!

It’s My Birthday!!

In my Stevie Wonder voice, Happy Birthday to me!! I am blessed and grateful to see another year of life! 42 Years Young (Shout out to Jackie Robinson)!!

I love being a Summer Baby, nothing like celebrating on a sun shining day!! Let me also make sure I shout some Birthday twins, my high school classmate James Benson, my Soror and Big Sista Tamiko Jackson, and my celebrity girl crush Angels Bassett!!

Now in addition to today being my Birthday, it is also National Rum Day!! So make sure to have an ice cold Rum Punch, Dark and Stormy, or Mai Tai in honor of me today :-)!

Cheers to 42 and many, many more!! It’s time to celebrate!!

Happy 40 + 1 to Me!!

August 16th, 1981…41 years ago today the Creator saw fit for me to come into this world. Leading up to this day has been one eventful year… let’s just say one for the books!! Bringing in 40 brought much joy, pain, new beginnings, but no regrets! The one thing I love about my birthday is that I get to reflect on what happened in the previous months, and what I can do in the months ahead.

So you know as I enter year 41, I always like to peel back and understand the significance of that number and everything that comes with it…The number 41 represents a symbol of hope and affirmation. This year I strive to maintain and increase my focus on physical, emotional, and financial security. Now I would be fooling myself if I did not say I was curious about what is in store for this new year. It’s amazing what can happen in a day, a week, a month, and even a year!

Now 41 also symbolizes creation and imagination…I got a few new projects on the rise, some projects in the process, and a few on the verge of completion.

41 also brings the essence of the following thoughts:

  • Expression of Personal Freedom
  • Curiosity
  • Pragmatism
  • Focus
  • Self-determination
  • Adventure

As always I am looking towards new possibilities that lead to great places. I’m ready, a little anxious, but alert for what is on the horizon!!
